biography
While attending Berklee on scholarship, Tim stacked up his studies to include a double-major curriculum, Guitar Performance and Music Production and Engineering.  His musical studies included instruction from Mick Goodrick, Richie Hart, Mitch Seidman, Jeff Galindo, Tim Miller, Ed Tomassi, Dave Santoro, Ron Mahdi, Mike Williams, and many others. The education and experience gained at Berklee have deeply influenced Tim’s experience and conception of music and sound.

In addition to 15 years of performance experience with rock, blues, jazz, and funk groups Tim is currently playing guitar in a 6-piece original rock band name One Step Further. One Step Further won the 2010 Pulse Magazine’s Worcester Music Award for Best Jam/Groove Act. Tim has also performed with such groups and artists as Organ Eyes, Chet Williamson, Mitch Seidman, Scott Pazera, Sam Politz, Double Shot, Tim Harrington, The Gimmick, Fast Forward, Reverend Who, and Insubordination.

He has over 10 years of teaching experience with a wide range of students.  Some of his favorite things to teach are jazz improvisation and music theory.

Philosophy
I do my best to pass along the knowledge of my years of experience. This saves my students a tremendous amount of time by avoiding the pitfalls and mistakes that I had to learn by trial and error. Every student learns at his or her own pace. I am very patient and friendly and try to adjust my teaching style to what the student needs.  Students are encouraged to be literate, well rounded musicians who excel at the style of music they choose to study.

styles
I specialize in teaching blues, rock, jazz, and funk guitar.  Additionally I teach theory, and college prep for music students of all instruments.

techniques
I encourage my students to be well rounded in a variety of learning and playing techniques. Playing by ear, understanding theory, and being able to read music all contribute to accelerated learning and the ability to handle a variety of playing situations. Proper methods of practice and efficiency are taught to increase the student's progress. I also teach a variety of left and right hand techniques to increase tone, fluidity and ease of playing the guitar.
